About Us

Director

After 10 years as Women with Latitude’s Music Director, Cinzia Cursaro made the difficult decision to hand over the reins at the end of 2024 to give herself more work/life balance.  Her joy of life, professionalism and energy will be sincerely missed.

Cinzia very kindly introduced the group to Sophie Zerner who has accepted the role of Music Director from the start of the 2025 year.

Music has always been a part of Sophie’s life, and her passion truly took shape when she began vocal lessons at the age of 15. This love for singing led her to complete an Honours degree in Jazz Voice, where she earned accolades such as DB Magazine’s Most Outstanding Undergraduate Jazz Voice Award and recognition as a Generations in Jazz Scholarship finalist.

While Sophie has enjoyed performing, teaching quickly became her greatest passion. She has extensive experience teaching both classroom and individual music students of all ages, from primary and high school students to university-level vocalists, where she worked as a vocal teacher at the Elder Conservatorium.

Choral music holds a special place in Sophie’s heart. She has sung with renowned ensembles such as The Adelaide Connection Choir, Gospo Choir, and most recently, the vocal trio Laurel. As a choir director, Sophie has worked with groups ranging from children to adults, finding joy in the soaring harmonies and the collective magic of choral singing.

With an incredibly varied musical taste spanning musical theatre, classical, and more, Sophie brings a spirit of curiosity and exploration to her work. She is looking forward to working with Women With Latitude on their journey as they continue to refine their skills, explore sound and style, and experience the joy of choral music together.

Sophie hopes to bring a deep understanding of the human voice, tone, and musicality, along with a willingness to explore diverse genres and techniques, creating an engaging and inspiring environment for the Women With Latitude choir.

Previous Performances

LOURDES VALLEY VILLAGE

For the sixth time since 2016, Women with Latitude were privileged to perform on Sunday, 6th July 2025 for the residents and family of Lourdes Valley Lodge in their magnificent Chapel.  This was our first full concert with new Director, Sophie Zerner and her first experience of the terrific acoustics in the Chapel.

ANZAC DAY

2025 was the ninth year in a row that Women with Latitude was invited to perform at Cross of the Sacrifice on Anzac Day. Prior to 2017, women had not been invited to perform at this ceremony, despite the fact that SA women had raised every cent to fund the monument in memory of those who gave their lives in the First World War.

2024

Thank you to all who supported the “Feelin’ Good” concert at the John Bray Performance Centre in Belair on 17th November 2024. It was a full house and the combined efforts of Solstice Singers and Women with Latitude, with your attendance, raised $2,580 for the Marion City Lions Club Hunger Relief Program.   Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2023

A Century of Song – held on Sunday afternoon, 4 June 2023 -was a wonderful day.  Women with Latitude shared the stage with the fabulous, energetic and professional Atlantic Street Band performing to an incredibly enthusiastic audience.  Have a listen to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy with their marvelous accompaniment.

2022

Our final concert for 2022 was to a sell-out audience on Sunday, 20th November.  We were proud to have shared the day with the truly magnificent  Festival Statesmen Chorus – a choral group worthy of the acclaim they received that day – and at all of their performances.
